Hi Thai Gastronomy lovers!
Sao here,
Welcome to our first blog. Whooooo!
I plan to do a monthly blog to share share our Thai food culture besides Thai recipe for Thermomix. If there is any topic you are interested in, let me know. We'll do some research and I'll share the findings with you on another blog post or via email.
We have the Thai “Vegetarian (or Je) Festival” coming up between 6 -14th October 2021 in China Town, Bangkok. But this ain’t no regular vegetarian festival, people. More specifically, Je Festival aims to bring good luck to individuals as well as the community who practice in the various fun activities and food
offerings made specifically for people who follow the “je” diet.
Which is a diet like veganism, but also with the exclusion of 4 types of pungent vegetables; including garlic, onion, Chinese garlic, and Chinese chives. Unlike vegetarians and vegans, however, the “je” diet is all- inclusive, and has a lot of offerings featuring imitation meats that you can’t even tell are “non-veg”! From spring rolls to Chinese stir fry with crispy pork, to larb (chicken) spicy salad!
So I dare you to bring even your most feared “meat-eater” friends and have ‘em try the grub at this festival, I bet you they won’t be able to tell the difference. ;)
But if you’d rather avoid the crowds, then as a gesture of good faith, I’m also giving you a free veg shrimp recipe that you can make at home with your very own Thermomix! Visit my store or download the recipe from Sao's Secret Recipe collection.
